I had my Sony 65''XBR HX929 for a few months now and it plays almost 24/7.
The picture quility is still awesome, it plays better now than it did when it was brand new.
My only problem less far is the fact that it doesn't play back video ''AVI'' files from a flash drive...it refuses to even see ''AVI'' video files.
When I put the same flash drive into my Samsund BD-C6900 Blue Ray Disc Player....it plays it with no problem at all. (Didn't buy Sony BRP because I wanted different app's than the 929 had to offer...best of both worlds )
I'm hoping that Sony soon implement ''AVI '' Flash Drive viewing from this set soon.
At $5300....why not...
Peace & blessings.
@ Sony XBR-HX929 Don't Play AVI from Flash.
I have searched for a suitable solution for you. This is an answer that was received from Sony.
".....Unfortunately at this stage there isn't any software updates available from Sony that is able to play avi video format thru DLNA media server. However, keep checking the Sony support site for updates and enhancements: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/index.pl........."
So, I think that you should update the firmware. click to==> http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=XBR65HX929&LOC=3#/downloadTab
You also can get information from How to & Troubleshooting on same menu of Sony esupport . hope this helps you.
